Exhibition/Studio: Dine By Design East

I’ve been helping Heath out in the ceramics studio with some projects for Dine by Design.

Interdisciplinary artist Heath Simpson is curating NSCAD University’s dining room display at Dine By Design East. Heath graduated in May with a double major in photography and fine arts. Other members of the NSCAD team include: Sandra Alfoldy, professor of art history; Marlene Ivey, professor of design; Linda Hutchison, director of university relations; and Marilyn Smulders, director of communications.

In partnership with Gio, the NSCAD team aims to challenge traditional dining experiences by exploring forms of expression in food, art, craft and design. The starting point for their dining space is a collection of eight ceramic place settings by eight NSCAD alumni, a treasured part of the university’s collection.
