Playlist: Caribou & All Tiny Creatures

Two amazing bands were featured on my radio show this week: Caribou & All Tiny Creatures. Both make amazing slightly chill electro music (so good for the studio) great for packing as that is what I find myself doing these days. I’ve got only two more days up North on the job. Both bands not only make great music but great visual art (I just want to cover of The Milk of Human Kindness to be a plate so badly). So I’ll showcase both below! Note: Neither band are good for the car unless it is blared beyond reason so the intricacies can be heard above the white noise of the road.

Caribou

The Milk of Human Kindness is my most cherished Caribou album. It is a versatile and flowing album. Great to throw in the background or dwell upon. Caribou it so good. So good. The 15 odd albums released in the last decade show just how skilled this band is and just how  able to grow and progress while still being consistent audio quality for our enjoyment. If you wander over to their website you can also see the changing patchwork header I dig so. Actually I’ll post it below for you. Perhaps you can see by this how my visual interest in ceramics with layers and color relates so well to music. The noise from Caribou’s tracks are interpreted visually for us through web interfaces, video and album sleeves.

All Tiny Creatures

All Tiny Creatures have it together, all of it. From a blog standpoint it is super pretty, from a physical standpoint it is super pretty, from a musical standpoint they are super pretty. In conclusion All Tiny Creatures is super super super pretty. People,  those who have it together like All Tiny Creatures, are selling vinyl with MP3 downloads- this is how records are going to make a come back. I mean who wants CDs any more? No, you want a gorgeous object to interact with and then your digital version to take with you on your device! There is nothing wrong with analog! Due to all of their prettiness and my new budget that allows for a monthly record purchase.I have ordered Harbour on vinyl, a friendly purchasing interface and no shipping cost certainly added to it all- they have it together!!! Once again we are able to take bits of running a good indie band and apply it to running a good pottery. Get it together. Make it pretty. Make it easy to buy.

If you dig these bands download the radio show this week here.

Playlist: I love music and it consequently is in my potting life. It enhances the studio all the time and therefore my process. It is a bit of my life I would like to share. So I will post up links concerning a band, and a personal review of an album.
